HINO AND DAEWOO SHARE CNG BUS ORDER FOR KARACHI

In the Pakistan’s largest city Karachi’s a first batch of fifty dedicated CNG buses has been entered into a pilot project, to gain practical experience with this type of vehicle. The project was inaugurated by Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan.

Nanjing Iveco's electric minibus has been eventually put into practical use after about a year of R&D endeavour. Since a couple of months ten of these new energy vehicles featured with a zero-emission and pollution-free driveline have been used as the official service buses by a Chinese authority.

BAE TO SUPPLY HYBRID BUS PROPULSION SYSTEMS

BAE Systems is to provide propulsion systems for up to 500 hybrid electric buses recently ordered by King County Metro Transit in Seattle. The company will supply its HybriDrive propulsion system to DaimlerBuses North America, which received an order from the Seattle transit agency for 500 Orion VII hybrid buses, with an option for 200 additional units. The base first-year order is for 93 hybrid units.
AVL INTRODUCES MODULAR RANGE EXTENDER FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES

AVL has introduced new range extender system technology and engineering services targeted at OEMS for short-term market introduction of range-extended electric vehicles. The Range Extender is an autonomous auxiliary power unit added to pure electric drive vehicles to extend the operational range beyond that obtainable in the pure electric mode. AVL took a modular approach; depending on the specific customer production background and product needs, the internal combustion engine (ICE) component can be designed as a 2- or 4-stroke piston engine, or for lowest noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) and best compactness, as a rotary engine.
