AIR-PURIFYING STONES ON TRIAL
The Dutch University of Twente (UT) are paving a test road section in the Dutch city of Hengelo with air-purifying stones. These concrete stones contain titanium dioxide, a photocatalytic material, which uses sunlight to convert the nitrogen oxides in the air into harmless nitrates. The rain then washes the streets clean.
AEC DELIVERS NG PARTS KITS TO WEICHAI IN CHINA
Advanced Engine Components Limited has completed an order for over 300 natural gas vehicle system ("NGVS") kits, which it received from Weifang Weichai Peterson Gas Co Ltd in China, producing engines under the Weichai brand name. The NGVS kits, with a sale value exceeding $1.1 million, were delivered in August/September 2008.

STAGECOACH TO PIONEER BUS BANKCARDS IN LIVERPOOL
Liverpool bus passengers will be the first in the UK to be able to use a bankcard to make on-board payment for travel. Stagecoach, MasterCard and The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) are staging a one-year trial that will see the major roll-out of the technology in the second quarter of 2009 on around 200 Stagecoach buses on 11 routes in Merseyside.
EMITEC SCRI SYSTEM READY FOR EURO 6
