Singapore’s public transport company SMRT has ordered 66 Mercedes-Benz BlueTec city buses with reduced exhaust emissions and diesel consumption through advanced technology and environment-friendly engines
STAGECOACH LAUNCHES SCOTLAND’S FIRST CARBON NEUTRAL BUS NETWORK
140,000 trees are to be planted in Scotland as part of environmental initiative to save 21,500 tones in CO2 emissions on Fife-Edinburgh route, British operator Stagecoach announced recently. This environmental initiative, in partnership with Scottish charity Global Trees, will see all of Stagecoach's Fife to Edinburgh bus network become carbon neutral for the next five years.

FLORIDA AIRPORT TRIALS HYDROGEN-POWERED BUSES
Orlando International Airport is currently testing four hydrogen-powered Ford shuttle busses, in an effort to reduce its carbon footprint. The busses are equipped with internal combustion engines which are powered by hydrogen gas instead of conventional fuel, according to a report from CNN.
NEW FLYER SIGNS EXCLUSIVE AGREEMENT WITH BALLARD FOR FUEL CELL BUSES

New Flyer Industries Inc., manufacturer of the New Flyer heavy-duty transit vehicles in Canada and the United States, announced recently that it has signed an exclusive five-year agreement with Ballard Power Systems for use of fuel cell modules in shuttle buses that New Flyer plans to develop.
