PLASTISOL UK BUYS TVAC ASSETS

Dutch-based Plastisol, manufacturer of complete plastic bodies which were among others used as a basic body on the TVAC Eclipse low floor minibus, has set up a new UK company Plastisol UK Ltd which has bought the assets of TVAC, which went into administration late last year. The new company will be based at Chorley, Lancashire.

Azure Dynamics Corporation has entered an exclusive agreement with Collins Bus Corporation of South Hutchinson, Kansas, the largest manufacturer of small school buses in North America .The new partnership will allow Collins to offer Azure’s proprietary Balance Hybrid Electric drivetrain as an option on Type A school buses built on Ford’s E-450 chassis. Type A school buses can typically transport between 14 and 30 passengers.
FAW KEEN TO MAKE LOW-FLOOR BUS IN WEST BENGAL

Chinese vehicle manufacturer First Automobile Works (FAW) recently expressed its interest to set up an unit in West Bengal for producing low-floor bus, in a joint venture with Ural India. FAW officials are looking for 300 acre from the state government to set up the joint venture unit adjacent to the Ural India project.
ASHOK LEYLAND DEVELOPS HYTHANE ENGINE

Ashok Leyland has developed a range of hythane engines to power its buses, in association with Australia's Eden Energy. These hythane engines are powered by a fuel which is a mix of CNG and hydrogen, generally 20 per cent hydrogen by volume.
ABU DHABI ORDERS 400 BUSES FROM MAN

Department of Transport in Abu Dhabi has placed an order for 400 city and intercity buses with MAN.The Dubai-based MAN subsidiary, in cooperation with local importer Darwish Bin Ahmed & Sons Company, was able to land the contract from the Department of Transport in Abu Dhabi (DoT). The order comprises a total of 400 low-floor and intercity buses worth a three-figure million euro sum.
