CHINA DEVELOPING ELECTRIC VEHICLE FRAMEWORK
China’s Standardisation Administration is now giving its approval for new legislation covering charging of electric vehicles. The legislation is for issued four sections of the Electric Vehicle Charging Interface and Communication Protocol Standards. These are intended for electric charging stations and are being introduced in a bid to step up the use of electric vehicles, part of a wider policy to develop alternative-fuel transportation in China.

ARRIVA PLACES ANOTHER LARGE ORDER WITH VDL BUS & COACH
Arriva orders another large number of SB-200 chassis’s for delivery in 2012 through the VDL UK dealership Arriva Bus and Coach. The order consists of 80 single deck chassis of the type SB-200. VDL says the single deck SB-200 chassis is a proven chassis concept achieving very low fuel consumption through the combination of a well proven running gear. Arriva has proven that this chassis gives greater benefits than others tested, low fuel consumption, reliability and whole life costs.
MITSUBISHI HEAVY, HITACHI AND MITSUBISHI CORP. TO BEGIN PROJECT ON EV INFRASTRUCTURE FOR SMART COMMUNITY SYSTEM
Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) has selected Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI), Hitachi, Ltd. and Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) as contractors for the Smart Community System Demonstration Project in Spain, as the result of a feasibility study which was conducted from March through October 2011 by the three companies.
OMNITEK ENGINEERING EXPANDS CNG BUSINESS WITH TATA MOTORS
Omnitek Engineering Corporation announced it has been selected by India-based Tata Motors to supply original equipment high-pressure natural gas filters for 2012 passenger vehicles, expanding a supplier agreement for commercial vehicle filter applications that commenced in 2009.
