NEOMAN DOUBLEDECKER AND CHASSIS DEVELOPMENTS
NeoMAN has announced some new developments for the coming months. One of them is a new Neoplan Skyliner doubledecker coach, which will be launched during the coming IAA exhibition. Next development is the launching of a range of chassis for the global marketplace.
The new double-decker coach will based on the Cityliner. Exact details about the technical aspects of the new coach are yet unknown, as is the start of the production. But it is understood that it will take some time before the production will get started. The production will be done by Viseon according to insiders.
Neoman, the bus division of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge, has further announced that it will be developing a new range of bus chassis for the global bus and coach market. In large parts of the global marketplace public transport is still based on buses and coaches built by local body manufacturers on chassis supplied by the OEM’s. Though no exact data of these chassis were also given yet, it was confirmed that the new range will be based on the existing Lion’s Explorer front-engined bus chassis manufactured by MAN in South Africa, the existing European coach chassis and on the chassis manufactured by MAN in Brasil. The new bus chassis will also be added to the MAN vehicle program for the local Indian market, built by local joint venture partner Force Motors, the MAN management said during a recent press conference.
