NEOPLAN BUS CELEBRATES ITS 75TH BIRTHDAY

Since being founded in 1935, Neoplan has established itself at the fore of innovative technology, travel comfort and design worldwide through a large number of new and unique developments. This includes inventing the double-decker coach, leading the way in passenger-friendly low-floor technology for city buses, pioneering the high-decker construction or using unusual designs — the Starliner coach being the latest example.
The Neoplan brand has been part of the MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Group since 2001 and has played a part in the success of its bus business. MAN Nutzfahrzeuge boosted its market share in Western Europe from 12.8% to 14.8% in 2009. Operating profit in the bus business soared from €19 million in the previous year to €40 million although revenue fell 14% to €1.3 billion.Neoplan is an important player in the exclusive premium coaches segment in Europe. Numerous of famous customers have been having themselves chauffeured around in exclusive and individually designed buses from the premium Neoplan brand for decades. They include the King of Saudi Arabia as well as top international soccer clubs like Chelsea FC.
