ANKAI SUPPLIES BUSES FOR THE WORLD EXPO IN SHANGHAI
Doubledeckers and electric full-size buses will be supplied by Ankai to Shanghai, as part of the transportation for the World Expo, which starts neginning May. In the summer of 2009, Ankai Best electric buses attracted already a lot of attention during the Dalian Davos Conference. Ankai Bus obtained an order of 14 Ankai Best electric tourist buses from Shanghai World Expo.
The buses are equipped with proprietary electric technology of lithium cells plus supercapacitor, which combination is capable of meeting the requirement of instant high power when starting or climbing and extending the service life of battery. Ankai 12-meter electric buses only need a charge 110Kwh to ensure the driving of 260km. Conventional diesel vehicles require about 87.9 USD as fuel costs for the same distance.
Apart from the 14 electric buses, Ankai also delivers a number of open-top double-deck touring buses serving the visitors during the World Expo as transportation on this complex and outside, along the Huangpu River. The buses are formally ordered by Britain’s Big Bus. which is the biggest professional tour carrying service provider in the world. The Ankai HFF6110GS-1 buses ordered currently are the only advanced double-deck open top city touring bus in China. The upper open top gives passengers 360°panoramic perspective and unique visual experience. This model is equipped with 21 languages synchronous system to offer explanations for visitors from various countries and regions.
