GERMAN BUSPRODUCTION IN 2009 LOWER
According to the German organisation of the automobile industry VDA the German bus industry produced 770 vehicles in December 2009. Compared with December 2008 this means a reduction of 19 percent.
During the whole year 2009 some 7800 vehicles were produced, which means 22 percent less than in 2008. The German market, however, recovered in December 2009, showing a growth in registrations of also 22 percent, all together 778 new buses were put in service. From January till December 2009 all together 5.600 buses ands coaches were registered, 5 percent less than in 2008. Also clearly lower in December 2009 was the number of exported buses - 620 were shipped, which is 44 percent less than in the same month of 2008. In the whole year 2009 the German bus manufacturers exported 5.900 vehicles, which means 25 percent less than in 2008.
