The American Bus Association (ABA) joined the Smart Move supporters’ club. ABA represents approximately 1000 motorcoach and tour companies in the United States and Canada. Its members operate charter, tour, regular route, airport express, special operations and contract services (commuter, school, transit). Another 2800 ABA member organizations represent the travel and tourism industry and suppliers of bus products and services who work in partnership with the North American motorcoach industry.

Smart Move is currently taking crush courses in Russian, Arabic and Turkish, with the objective to start talking to its Russian-, Arabic- and Turkish-speaking friends by the end of the year.
IRU adopts a resolution on a voluntary commitment of the road transport industry to reduce CO2 emissions by 30% by 2030.
At its meeting on 6 October, the IRU and its Member Associations voluntarily committed themselves to reduce CO2 emissions by 30% by 2030, calculated as transport performance in tkm and pkm and related to the base year 2007.
