ENOVA AND WRIGHTBUS PARTNER TO DELIVER ADDITIONAL 6 HYBRID BUSES IN LONDON, UK
Enova Systems, a developer of proprietary electric, hybrid and fuel cell digital power management systems, announced that in its continuing partnership with the Wright Group, it will provide an additional six Wrightbus Electrocity vehicles to the city of London, United Kingdom.
In February 2006, Wrightbus, a division of Wright Group of the U.K., introduced its hybrid drive Electrocity bus to London Central. These previous buses also incorporate Enova's Hybrid Drive system. According to Wrightbus, the Electrocity offers the market a clean bus with ultra low emissions to help address the issues of global warming and air quality, while giving operators reductions in their daily operating costs. Currently there are already six Hybrid Electrocity buses in service, operating at a target of seven days per week and eighteen hours per day.
The Electrocity incorporates Enova's 120kW Series Hybrid drive system which is powered by Enova's 60kW Genset. Enova's 120kW Hybrid Drive System has already been installed in the previous six Wrightbus Electrocity vehicles that are now in service in London. The initial six single deck buses operate on London's 360 route, from the Elephant Castle to the Royal Albert Hall.
