MAN ANNOUNCES JOINT VENTURE WITH PON FOR FRANCE AND BENELUX MARKETS
MAN Nutzfahrzeuge has announced a joint venture agreement for sales, distribution and servicing in France and the Benelux countries with Pon, its Dutch market distributor for the past 27 years. The partnership will see Pon responsible for MAN trucks and engines as well as MAN and Neoplan buses and bus chassis in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
Each firm will have a 50% stake in a new holding company, MAN Region West BV, of which Pon will have overall management responsibility. "In choosing Pon we have gone for a successful and competent trading partner with whom we have already had excellent experience in the servicing and sale of our vehicles in the Netherlands," Peter Erichreineke, MAN Nutzfahrzeuge's director of marketing and sales, stated Pon, based in Nijkerk, the Netherlands is an international trading company whose business spans a wide range of activities broadly divided in two divisions: Pon Automotive and Pon Equipment + Power Systems. As well as MAN, it represents Volkswagen, Caterpillar and Linde and has over 9,000 personnel in 500 branches spread over 11 countries.
