US: AZURE DYNAMICS PARTNERS WITH TURTLE TOP

The US CV and bus hybrid powertrain supplier Azure Dynamics has announced a partnership with Turtle Top, a North American bus body manufacturer specialising in small to mid-sized buses and specialty vehicles, based on mainly Ford and Freightliner chassis.
The agreement provides Turtle Top customers and dealers the opportunity to choose Azure's Balance hybrid electric drivetrain on the Ford E-450 chassis, which is much used for midibus bodies. Recently, Azure Dynamics and Turtle Top delivered 15 buses fitted with this Balance Hybrid Electric drive line as shuttle buses to Metro Mobility in Minnesota. Metro Mobility is a public transit service of the MetropolitanCouncil and provides door-through-door ADA paratransit service in theMinneapolis/St. Paul region. The buses will be delivered in the fourth quarterof 2009. This sale was a collaborative effort among Azure, Turtle Top and Hoglund Bus, a dealership in Monticello, Minnesota.
