FOTON SET TO SELL 75 HYBRID BUSES TO TAIWAN
Beiqi Foton Motor has recently secured an order from a bus service company in Taiwan for 75 hybrid AUV buses, according to a local newspaper. This will be the first batch of Foton hybrid AUV buses to be sold outside mainland China.
In addition, Foton Motor is in talks with auto sales companies from Britain and the United States about exporting the hybrid AUV buses to these two markets. Foton hybrid buses are likely to be exported to more other overseas markets in the future.
Since its production started at the end of 2007, the hybrid version of Foton's AUV bus has come into public transportation service in some Chinese cities, such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Shenzhen, but it hasn't been exported yet.
The Foton AUV buses are made by Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd. AUV Bus Company, which was established in 1996 as a branch company of Beiqi Foton Co., Ltd. Headquartered in Beijing, the Foton bus company has several manufacturing bases in different provinces in China.
