PLASTISOL UK BUYS TVAC ASSETS
Dutch-based Plastisol, manufacturer of complete plastic bodies which were among others used as a basic body on the TVAC Eclipse low floor minibus, has set up a new UK company Plastisol UK Ltd which has bought the assets of TVAC, which went into administration late last year. The new company will be based at Chorley, Lancashire.
Plastisol intend to market their range of plastic bodies to all manufacturers of light vehicles in the UK and are also keen to talk to minibus builders about them using the technology.
No decision has been taken as to whether they will recommence manufacture of the TVAC Eclipse minibus but it is known that within the purchase are components for a number of vehicles which were in build at the time of the administration appointment. TVAC at that time had outstanding contracts for the supply of four vehicles to Birmingham, seven to Oxford and one for a Scottish operation. The new company also owns the intellectual property rights to the airsuspended TVAC chassis used on
the Eclipse.
