A first batch of Kinglong 18 meter BRT vehicles, of the model  XMQ6180G, were recently shipped to Iran. They are part of a batch ordered earlier this year, the vehicle shipped to Iran is part a new generation of citybuses, including articulated buses, which was launched at this year’s Busworld Asia exhibition.

The Kinglong buses exported to Iran were adapted to local demands, which means that they are fitted with special entry facilities for wheelchairs. Further a partition was integrated into the buses, dividing the interior into a male and female sector. Kinglong has this year secured more orders for its articulated buses, to be used in BRT systems in among others South America and Australia.

In Iran Kinglong is not the only Chinese bus manufacturer that is doing good business, Arg Diesel of Iran earlier this year agreed to terms with Anhui Ankai Automobile Co.,Ltd. to purchase CNY 549 million worth of city buses. Ankai will deliver 100 18-metre and 100 12-metre full-size buses, as well as 200 18-metre and 200 12-metre pre-assembled buses to Arg Diesel.
