The Deutz engine is of the six cylinder, four stroke, inline type, turbocharged with charge-air-cooler (air-to-air type), Deutz common rail (DCR) injection system, and is emission optimized according to Euro V using SCR/AdBlue. The engine has a capacity  of 7,14 litres and an output of 213 kW @ 2100 rpm. Max. torque 1 200 Nm / 1 050 – 1 650 rpm.

At the beginning of 2007, Tedom also commenced testing version of their own engines for the compliance with the future limits Euro 5 and EEV. Successful fulfilment of these requirements means that certain design changes and changes in the method of engine control have to be carried out. The tests focused on verification of the changes in the own engines are being continued.
