BUSWORLD INDIA NEARS THIRD EDITION
The Indian public and private bus transport companies and their international suppliers will meet again during next year’s Busworld India exhibition, taking place from 14th. till 16th. Januari 2009 in Mumbai, India. Most of the available exhibition space has meanwhile been booked by Indian and international suppliers – some of the exhibition space has been reserved for last-minute entrants which want to present their products to the fast changing Indian industry.
The Indian public transport industry is developing at high speed, opting for systems like BRT, dedicated bus lanes, hi-tech planning and scheduling, technical changes in vehicle construction, emission levels which are comparable with the European rules and a lot of other innovations that will be lifting the Indian public and private transport system during the years to come to a level that should be comparable with that of the northern hemisphere. Many European and American suppliers meanwhile have settled on the Indian market in partnerships with local industries, or by establishing own subsidiaries.
For the years to come India will be in need of more outside technology in order to keep local developments in pace with social and economical requirement, though it will probably remain self-sufficient with regard to the production of the necessary rolling equipment.
Busworld India 2009 will be offering an excellent opportunity to meet and interact with representatives of all segments of the industry. The aim of the event is to raise productivity, turnover and profitability by displaying the newest technologies to visitors from India as well as abroad. Though most of the visitors will again be coming from India like during the first two Indian events, Busworld’s local partner, Inter Ads, expects visitors from many other countries, as far afield as Australia, China, Hong Kong, Brazil, Africa, United States and several parts of Europe – in line with the visitor profile of the first two exhibitions. That is proof not only of the increasing strength of the Busworld brand in global markets, but also the rising importance of India. The economy is strong and transport has moved up the public, political and industrial agenda.
