BERLIN PUBLIC TRANSPORT WANTS MORE HYDROGEN BUSES.
From 2009 onwards the Berlin, Germany public transport company BVG wants to acquire 50 more buses powered by a hydrogen driveline, according to a recent report in the German paper “Die Welt”.
The BVG already has 14 buses with hydrogen engines in it’s fleet, these buses were all delivered by MAN. For the next batch of vehicles there are meanwhile talks going on with several possible suppliers, though no names were given. The planning is that the first buses of the new batch of 50 will already be delivered during next year, while the last ones should be taken into service in 2016, according to the report in the German newspaper.
