Orlando International Airport is currently testing four hydrogen-powered Ford shuttle busses, in an effort to reduce its carbon footprint. The busses are equipped with internal combustion engines which are powered by hydrogen gas instead of conventional fuel, according to a report from CNN.

Hydrogen is one of the many technologies Orlando is exploring, trying to become more of a green airport. The airport has already taken steps to reduce the environmental impact of its shuttle fleet, with 24 busses powered by biodiesel and three gas-electric hybrid vehicles currently in use.
Airport officials are hopeful that the project will provide them with hydrogen efficiency data and promote the use of the gas as an alternative power source.
Virgin Atlantic Airways recently announced plans to transport VIP passengers around Los Angeles Airport using hydrogen fuel cell-powered Chevrolet Equinox vehicles
