OTOKAR ANNOUNCES DORUK 160LE HIBRA BUS WITH HYBRID DRIVE
Turkish bus manufacturer Otokar, part of the Koç Group, has completed the first prototype of a Doruk midibus fitted with a hybrid drive. This first vehicle is used now by Otokar for their own extensive testing. A second prototype vehicle is scheduled for construction later this year.
The prototype vehicle is based on the recently launched Doruk 160LE with low entry. In the hybrid version has vehicle is equipped with a Euro 5 diesel enginen combined witt an Enova 120 kW electric driveline. The first prototype is now under extensive testing by Otokar; in a second stage it will tested in daily practice by the Istanbul Public Transport Board.
Outside Turkey the Doruk buses are better known as Vectio.
