KINGLONG TO LAUNCH BONNETED SCHOOLBUS

Published at 10.12.2011 in Company news, Public transport

Kinglong has confirmed that they are now developing a bonneted school bus that will be in compliance with American federal safety standards for this type of bus. The buses will be unveiled next year. The buses have been developed in order to guarantee schoolchildren a safe journey to and from school.

In China, some serious accidents with school buses have occurred in the recent past. Recently, an overloaded school minibus crashed head-on with a truck in a rural area of western China’s Gansu province, killing at least 18 kindergarten children on their way to school. So some China bus manufacturers are now developing safer school buses to meet the demand of Chinese market.

The school buses which are now under development at Kinglong, are in accordance with the standards of American-made school buses. The new school buses will range from a dozen seats to fifty or more seats and cover both bonneted school buses and forward control versions.

In order to reach a better safety, more emphasis should also be put on improving the school bus standards in China, according to industry representatives.
