COACH EURO TEST 2011 HELD IN ARENDAL
During the first days of June the Coach Euro Test 2011 was held in the Norwegian city of Arendal, a beautiful and historic place at the country’s southern coastline. A group of some 30 journalists from all over Europe had the chance to test here six coaches from six European manufacturers, comparing them on the road.
The Coach Euro Test is carried out in every uneven year, in the even years there is the Bus Euro Test, comparing a number city- and line buses with each other. Participating in this year’s Coach Euro Test were the Irizar i6 from Spain, the Scania Touring HD 13.7 and the Volvo 9500 from Sweden, the Setra S416 GT-HD2 and the Viseon C13 from Germany, and finally the VDL New Futura FHD2-129 410 from the Netherlands.
Except testing all these buses the jury had to task to select the Coach of the Year 2011 – to which of the contenders this prestigious award goes, will be unveiled prior to the Busworld Kortrijk 2011 exhibition. The handing-over ceremony of this award will be held during this exhibition.
