TEMSA TO LAUNCH CITYBUS AND INTERCITY BUS
Temsa, the Turkish bus and coach manufacturer, has plans to unveil a new citybus and an intercity bus during this year. The citybus will probably be shown during the coming Busworld Istanbul exhibition, scheduled for 24 till 26 April 2008. The intercity bus will be launched during the coming Hannover IAA exhibition.
For the European market both new vehicles will be fitted with DAF engines, while for the rest of the world Cummins engines will be selected. Further details are not yet known.
Temsa, which has ambitions to become one of the main global busbrands, unveiled first details of these new vehicles during the recent Busworld Asia exhibition. Meanwhile Temsa has also got foothold on the North-American market, during the recent UMA Motorcoach Expo 2008 in San Francisco, California she concretised her collaboration with Trident Industries to import the Temsa TS35, a stainless steel 35 feet (10.6m) vehicle with a Caterpillar engine, U as first model for the US market. After a first glance at the UMA show in New Orleans in 2007, this year’s show in San Francisco meant concrete sales. More than 50 orders for the TS35 are already confirmed and Temsa is confident the market has more potential for this year.
The Temsa TS35 was designed by Temsa in stainless steel to meet all the needs of the US market. The combination of a number of attributes: 35” length, stainless steel, 42 seats, ample luggage capacity and integral construction make it a unique and very desirable product against the traditional “cut-away” market, as Temsa officials stated.
