VOSSLOH KIEPE AND GÖPPEL BUS PRESENT NEW GERMAN 12-METER HYBRID BUS
The need for low-emission and power-saving transportation has been ever increasing due to the current climate debate, making electric drive equipment is in demand more than ever. This makes the optimization of such technology especially important. The Fraunhofer-Institut für Verkehrs- und Infrastruktursysteme IVI in Dresden has taken on this challenge and are acting as test carriers by purchasing this innovative 12-meter hybrid bus from Vossloh Kiepe and Göppel Bus.
The objective is to further adapt the development of hybrid technology to the demands and abilities of public bus operators. Among the main aspects to be examined by the Fraunhofer IVI, are the fuel savings, reduction of CO2 emission and of noise emission, and the ommon acceptance of the vehicles by the passengers, drivers and residentsVossloh Kiepe GmbH is an international manufacturer of electrical traction equipment and has long-standing experience in the field of local public transport – something which benefits the development of the modern hybrid bus traction system. Constant optimization of technology keeps Vossloh Kiepe moving in the direction of electromobility.
Vehicles with Vossloh Kiepe’s serial hybrid system are already being used in Luxembourg, Düsseldorf, Ennepetal, Hagen, Wuppertal, Dresden, Dortmund, Enschede and the list will soon be even longer. They operate almost noiselessly and the low emission rate is simply one more of their impressive features.
