UITP MONTREAL SUMMIT TO FOCUS ON DIGITALIZATION
Two trends that are promising to transform the world of urban mobility, mobility as a service and digitalization, will be under the spotlight at the upcoming UITP Global Public Transport Summit May 15 to 17 in Montréal. IVECO BUS DELIVERS 628 BUSES TO MINAS GERAIS SCHOOLS,
Iveco Bus is delivering 628 buses to the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. The buses are destined for use by students, especially those located in rural areas. The buses were acquired by virtue of the state's adhesion to the National Development Fund for Education (FNDE), which was established in 2016. This most recent order follows a further tender won by Iveco Bus last year for the delivery of 400 vehicles. In all, the FNDE order foresees the provision of up to 1,600 buses from Iveco Bus.Read article
NEW FLYER TO BUILD 300 XCELSIOR CNG BUSES FOR MIAMI
New Flyer Industries Inc. subsidiary New Flyer of America Inc. has been awarded a contract to build 300 40-foot Xcelsior compressed natural gas (CNG) buses for Miami-Dade Transit. The contract is part of a project launched by Miami-Dade County to replace 300 old diesel buses with new CNG vehicles.Read article
BYD MIGHT DELIVER ELECTRIC BUSES TO ARGENTINA
Chinese electric b us manufacturer BYD has been officially selected as the recommended company by the evaluation committee in Argentina for the purchase of 50 electric buses on behalf of the Ministry of Environment.
The tender was launched as a pilot project for the introduction of electric public transport in different cities throughout the country. The bid evaluation committee chose BYD amongst a pool of 5 bidders for its successful 12-meter electric bus, which is already widely used in cities such as London, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, etc.
MAN BUSES FOR MEXICAN OPERATOR IAMSA
IAMSA carries around 350 million passengers per year with 9 600 buses and coaches in 22 Mexican states. To help them with this task, the company has now ordered new 181 chassis from MAN Latin America. Of the new double-deckers order, 140 are based on the MAN RR4 26.480 three-axle chassis.Read article
