VOLKSWAGEN UNVEILS ID BUZZ ELECTRIC MICRO BUS CONCEPT
Dr. Herbert Diess, Chairman of the VW board, says: “The Volkswagen brand’s big electric offensive begins in the year 2020 with a completely new vehicle architecture. That is when we will be launching an entirely new generation of fully connected, all-electric vehicles to the market. By 2025 we want to be selling one million of these vehicles annually. The first edition of Busworld Latin America turned out to be a success
From 5 to 7 December 2016, Busworld organised its very first edition of Busworld Latin America. The exhibition took place in the Plaza Mayor in Medellin, the second biggest city in Colombia.
With 61 exhibitors coming from 16 different countries from all over the world, Busworld Latin America was ready to host its 2,640 visitors. It was the best first edition ever in the Busworld history.
In total, 32 vehicles were presented on a total surface of 6,600 sqm. by Daimler, Scania, GM Isuzu, Busscar, Volvo, Golden Dragon, Inconcar, Megabuses, Otokar, Carrocerias JGB, Dina, Orion, Agrale, NPU etc.
INDIAN BUS TRANSPORT SYSTEM MAY BE ELECTRIFIED BY 2030
ABB has envisaged to make India into a complete electric bus nation by 2030. ABB India recently confirmed about plans to test flash charging of electric buses in India on a pilot basis. The intention is converting 1.5 lakh diesel buses into electric buses. India, apart from pollution caused by burning diesel and petrol, also pays around INR 8 lakh crore just to fulfil its crude oil needs.Read article

FIRST BUSES OF BIGGEST CONTRACT IN SOLARIS HISTORY DELIVERED
At the beginning of the year Solaris reported about winning an order for 300 intercity buses of the InterUrbino type for Cotral, an intercity transport operator in the central-Italian region of Lazio. Meanwhile the delivery of the first buses has taken place, but the Italian customer also indicated that she may choose to increase the order by 20% using an option for up to 360 additional vehicles.Read article
