RUSSIAN NEW BUS MARKET HAS GROWN BY 16% IN 2016
According to Autostat data, the Russian new bus market (excluding LCV) has amounted to 10,400 units in 2016, which is equivalent to a 15.9% year-on-year rise.
Russian manufacturer PAZ has become the leader of the market, with 57% share of the total volume last year. PAZ has sold approximately 6000 buses in 2016, up by 9.2% in comparison with the previous year. Another home brand LiAZ occupies the second place, with around 1900 units (+76.7%). The top-three is completed by Belarusian MAZ (825, +53.3%). Russian NEFAZ (606, -0.5%) and KAVZ (370,+22.9%) are the remaining brands in the top-five.
The high-floor, small-class PAZ-3205 is the most popular model in the Russian bus market. The sales figure of the model reached approximately 3800 units last year (+11.1%). Another small-class bus manufactured at Pavlovsk Automobile Factory: PAZ-3204 is at the second place, way behind the leader with 979 units (+39.3%). Low-floor, large-class LiAZ-5292 completes the top-three (797, +36.7%). Two home brands: LiAZ-4292 (737) and NEFAZ-5299 (606, -0.2%) came fourth and fifth respectively
